Iphis hirtellus Berlese, 1882c: 4.

Iphis hirtellus.— Berlese, 1883: 217; Castagnoli & Pegazzano, 1985: 449.

Remarks. It appears that this species was described by Berlese (1882c). However, no copies of this publication can be located (van der Hammen 1979). The specimens are also missing from the Berlese Acaroteca (Castagnoli & Pegazzano 1985). Berlese (1883) recorded its rare occurrence in moss at Acireale, Sicily.
