Sitarea Robineau-Desvoidy

Sitarea Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830: 763. Type species: Sitarea scorzonerae Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830, by subsequent designation (Stephens in Richardson, 1838: 629).

Originally Included species: Sitarea scorzonerae Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 (with “An Musca Doronici? De Geer” in doubtful synonymy); Sitarea dejeanii Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830.

Family: Tephritidae.

Current status: Junior synonym of Orellia Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 [teste Norrbom et al., 1999: 177).

Remarks: Norrbom et al. (1999: 177) and Evenhuis et al. (2010: 148) gave the typification for this genusgroup name as Sitarea scorzonerae Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 by subsequent designation of Desmarest in d’Orbigny (1848: 643).
