Syncomistes trigonicus Vari
Description
Syncomistes trigonicus Vari
Longnose Grunter
Another freshwater terapontid that is endemic to the Kimberley, Syncomistes trigonicus is now known from the Prince Regent, Roe, Mitchell, Lawley, King Edward and Drysdale River systems (Fig. 36), with an additional specimen (WAM P.32785-001) captured in 2006 from Flying Fox Creek, a tributary of Lake Argyle in the Ord River. This anomalous distribution record warrants further investigation.
