Bosmina (Liederobosmina) meridionalis Sars 1904, s.lat.
Description
(54) Bosmina (Liederobosmina) meridionalis Sars, 1904 s.lat.
Indian records. West Bengal —Ganga River — Bilgrami (1991a).
Remarks. B. meridionalis is a valid species described from New Zealand (Sars 1904) and widely distributed in Australia (Smirnov & Timms 1983). Recently it was found that similar forms are present in the Oriental zone (Maiphae et al. 2005, 2008; Tanaka & Ohtaka 2009). Indeed, there are some populations from the subgenus Bosmina (Liederobosmina) Břtek, 1997 in India, which preliminay could be determined as B. meridionalis.
