ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Scatophaga diadema Wiedemann, 1830.
TYPE SPECIES: Scatophaga diadema Wiedemann, 1830, by monotypy.
CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [teste Gill (1968: 3)].
FAMILY: HELEOMYZIDAE.
REMARKS: Diacia was originally proposed in synonymy with Scatophaga diadema Wiedemann, 1830 and made available by usage as a valid taxon before 1961 (e.g., Aldrich, 1926: 99).

CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Dolichopus Latreille, 1797.
FAMILY: DOLICHOPODIDAE.
REMARKS: Although there is another similar spelling change from “o” to “e” in the same work and thus could be considered an emendation, the misspelling for this name was corrected in the errata on page 604.

CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Dioctria Meigen, 1803.
FAMILY: ASILIDAE.
REMARKS: Criteria to make this name available as an emendation were not found to be fulfilled in this work.
