CURRENT STATUS: Unjustified emendation of Lasiopthicus Rondani, 1845; junior synonym of Scaeva Fabricius, 1805. New synonymy.
FAMILY: SYRPHIDAE.
REMARKS: Name made available as an emendation by virtue of similar spelling changes in two or more names from “p” to “ph” in the same work. Lasiopthicus Rondani, 1845 is currently treated as a junior synonym of Scaeva Fabricius, 1805 [teste Peck (1988: 40)].

CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Lasiopthicus Rondani, 1845.
FAMILY: SYRPHIDAE.
REMARKS: Criteria for making this name available as an emendation were not found to be fulfilled in these works.
