ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Ceratopogon hortulanus Meigen, 1818.
TYPE SPECIES: Ceratopogon hortulanus Meigen, 1818 [= Ceratopogon flavipes Meigen, 1804], by original designation.
CURRENT STATUS: Preoccupied by Lacépede, 1802; Perris, 1852; junior synonym of Palpomyia Meigen, 1818 [teste Borkent & Wirth (1997: 130)].
FAMILY: CERATOPOGONIDAE.
