Leucothoe ctenochasma Moore, 1987

Leucothoe ctenochasma Moore, 1987: 251, figs 9, 10. — Lowry & Stoddart, 2003: 155.

Type locality and specimens. Tinderbox, d'Entrecasteaux Channel, Tasmania. Holotype, female, 3 mm, AM P 36290; paratypes, sex unkown, 3 mm, AM P 36291, ovigerous female, 3 mm, sex unknown, 2 mm, BMNH.

Material examined. No material available for examination. Diagnosis based on description by Moore (1987).

Diagnosis (female). Maxilliped outer plate tuberculate. Mandibular palp article 3 short. Gnathopod 1 propodus and carpus narrow, elongate. Gnathopod 2 with high mediofacial row; carpus short. Pereopods 5–7 bases narrowly expanded. Telson with facial setae, apex bidentate. Moore reported the color of L. ctenochasma as pale pink.

Male (sexually dimorphic characters). Unknown.

Habitat. Among holdfasts of Ecklonia radiata; 3– 4 m.

Host. Sponges: Callyspongia Duchassaing & Michelotti, 1864, Holopsamma laminaefavosa, Mycale sp., and Phorbas sp.

Distribution. Pacific Ocean: Tasmania (Moore 1987; Lowry & Stoddart 2003).
