Description
Nigeria, over the years has experienced cost overruns and delays in construction of projects and the groundwater construction projects are inclusive. This study present result of a conducted questionnaire survey that identifies and evaluates the importance of the imperative factors responsible for the delay and cost overruns in Nigeria groundwater construction projects. The vital respondents of my survey cut across personnel’s such as construction owners, construction consultants and recognized contractors involved in groundwater projects in Nigeria. The study’s results expose the root causes of cost overruns and delays in the construction of groundwater projects: Inflation, delay in wages, mismanagement, poor material selection and procurement and low technical expertise. However, when excellent project planning, control and monitoring is established to improve project performance, delay and cost problems in groundwater construction projects dove tails.
