References
- Smetana (1982) described the holotype male from Key West, with paratypes from Monroe, Dade, and Pinellas counties in southern Florida. None of the specimen labels of the type series provided habitat information. In my collection [JHFC] are six specimens, all from Key Largo, Monroe County, four of which I collected under bark of a hardwood log, and two from under bark of a fallen gumbo limbo tree (Bursera simaruba (L.) Sarg.).
- The finding of a specimen on Grand Cayman suggests that the species may occur also in Cuba. This find raises the reported total of Staphylinidae in the Cayman Islands (Frank et al. 2011) to 63 species.
