Type locality and habitat: U.S.A., Maryland, Bowie, Fagus litter.

Type depository: USNM.

Notes: The dorsal shield of Calholaspis berlesei is hypertrichous. Krantz (1960) estimated in excess of 30 pairs of setae, but the partial illustration provided suggests at least 60 pairs.
