Scolytoplatypus javanus Eggers, 1923: 164.

Thai distribution: S: Nakhon Sri Thammarat (Schedl 1939a).

New records: Nakhon Sri Thammarat, Namtok Yong NP, Road to Khao Mhen, 150 m from Nern 499, 8° 16.959' N, 99° 39.149' E, 499 m, MT, various dates from 8–15.vii.2008 to 19–26.xi.2008 (Samnaokan, S.) (6).

Other distribution: Indonesia (Java, Kalimantan, Sumatra), Malaysia (E. and W.), Philippines. The species also occurs in Brunei Darussalam (R. A. Beaver, unpublished records). (3)

Biology: Browne (1961a) briefly describes the biology of this polyphagous species.
