Proposals for practical activities in the are of environmental protection to be realized in areas related to direct and indirect impact of various branches of industry, are presented in the paper. Their objectives is to familiarize students with numerous forms of environmental devastation, methods of post-industrial areas reclamation, especially with the role of spontaneous succession. Furthermore, students have an opportunity to assess the effectiveness of reclamation efforts and to discuss the importance of post-industrial areas for biodiversity preservation.
