Description

Genus Ornatoscalpellum Zevina, 1978

Ornatoscalpellum Zevina, 1978a: 1003.

Diagnosis. Capitulum of female with 14 plates, carina angularly flexed with umbo usually in upper part; tergum triangular, scutum with umbo apical; carinal latus with umbo at basi-carinal angle, noticeably protruding; inframedian latus wide, pentagonal to rectangular, umbo sub-medial to basal.

Type species. Scalpellum ornatum (Gray, 1848).

Composition. Four species.

Distribution. Bipolar. Known depth range 2 to 1600 m.
