– Sminthurinus intermedius Snider, 1978: 217

Remarks: This species was originally described from the USA (Maryland, Connecticut and Illinois). The Canadian record is based on Fjellberg’s remark (2007, p. 200) that he has “two specimens [from Kananaskis Valley, AB] tentatively identified as Sminthurinus intermedius Snider 1978 which clearly are Rusekianna ”. On www. collembola.org the species is treated as a member of the genus Polykatianna.
General distribution: Nearctic.
