Kraepelin 1903: 90–91 (as Newportia collaris n. sp.)
Type locality and specimens. Franz.- Guyana [French Guiana] (Bas Carsevenne). Mus. Paris.
Dimensions. Länge [length] 30 mm.
Type material. Syntype (ZMH-A0000675). FRENCH GUIANA: Bas Carsevenne (today Brazil, Amapá State, Calçoene) [ca. 02°30’N, 50°57’W].
Preservation. 1 jar: Label. Newportia collaris Krpln ex typis Bas Carsevenne Guyana Mus. Paris C. 26.VIII.03 (Kraepelin handwriting).
Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 69, No. 54. Paratype 1.
Collection remarks. The specimen comes from the MNHN collections where additional syntypes are likely held.
Current systematic position. Tidops collaris (Kraepelin, 1903); transferred from Newportia by Schileko & Minelli (1998: 296).
