Pocock 1893: 128–129 (as Cormocephalus huttoni sp.n.)
Type locality and specimens. Loc. New Zealand.
Dimensions. Length up to 70 millim.
Type material. Syntype (ZMH-A0000626). NEW ZEALAND. No additional data [41°17’N, 174°46’W for Wellington].
Preservation. 1 jar: Label. Cormoc. huttoni Poc. ex Typis Neuseeland, Museum London C. 30. VI.03.
Old type catalogues. Weidner (1960), p. 66, No. 22. Paratype.
Collection remarks. The specimen was donated by the BMNH during the time of Kraepelin’s curatorship.
Current systematic position. Junior synonym of Cormocephalus westwoodi (Newport, 1844) according to L.E. Koch (1983: 828).
