Collection remarks. The specimen came from the Botanial Garden of Hamburg and was probably introduced from the Caribbean (formerly known as the West Indies). It was collected by Mr. L. Reifsman. Note that according to the ICZN (1999) (Art. 76.1.1.) the type locality is the West Indies and not Hamburg because the specimen was transported from its original habitat by artificial means.
Current systematic position. Pectiniunguis pauperatus Silvestri, 1907.
