Type locality: Puerto Rico, Vieques I. HT M (NHMW) (sec Townsend, 1931b: 177).
Distr.: Puerto Rico, Trinidad, and Peru (Coquillett, 1900: 253; Thompson, 1963c: 319). Refs.: Curran, 1927a: 150 (key to species); Thompson, 1963c: 319 (redesc., larval desc.); Guimarães, 1971a: 185 (cat.). Comm.: This species is not recorded to Colombia, but is likely to occur in the country.
