This article deals with the theoretical aspects of the problem of reading development in older preschool children. The issues analyzed by us have always disturbed and attracted the attention of scientists, psychologists, teachers-practitioners and others. In particular, educators and psychologists in their research, one way or another, raised the issue of the development of children's reading of books. The current crisis of reading books as a rather difficult problem in Ukraine and the world, necessitates the awakening, renewal and further development of reading, to a greater extent, already in older preschool children. The importance of the development of reading in preschoolers is due to the great positive impact of reading books on their personal growth. However, despite the significant interest of scientists in this issue, the problem of the development of reading in older preschool children in the context of comprehensive computerization of society is virtually unexplored, and therefore extremely relevant.
