Lithium Ion Battery

The greatest thing about lithium ion battery is that it is versatile and efficient as a battery. A lithium ion battery is made up of four components: anode, cathode, electrolyte and separator. Metal lithium forms the cathode in lithium ion battery and lithium is an unstable element when used inside the apparatus of a battery. Lithium oxide, a well balanced combination of lithium and oxygen, is used as the cathode in lithium ion battery. It is because of the fact that lithium oxide is a stable compound as opposed to elemental lithium.
