Elachista scirpi Stainton, 1887

Elachista scirpi Stainton, 1887a: 253. Type locality: U.K., Wales, Pembroke (Stainton 1887a: 254). Type series not stated, in NHMUK.

Biselachista margareteae Traugott-Olsen, 1994: 333. Type locality: Italy, Toscana, Maremma (Traugott-Olsen 1994: 334). Holotype ♂, in Aren. Synonymized by Huemer & Kaila (2002): 218.

Biselachista scirpi: Traugott-Olsen & Nielsen (1977: 264).

Subgenus: Elachista; tetragonella species group.

Distribution: Palearctic. Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy (continent, Sicily), Norway, Portugal, Russia (European part), Sweden, U.K. (England, Wales).

Larval host plant(s): Scirpus maritimus L., (Cyperaceae), Juncus gerardii Loiseleur-Deslongchamps, J. compressus Jacq. (Juncaceae) (Stainton 1887b; Fletcher 1887; Meyrick 1928).
