Potential of Sweet Orange Peel Extract (Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck) as Anti Obesity in Male White Rats
Description
Obesity is closely related to the field of animal physiology science, where obesity is a condition when there is a build-up of fat in the body that then affects or even inhibits the work of body organs. The problem of obesity is currently getting serious attention in the world of health. One of the treatments of obesity is to use chemical drugs known to provide long-term side effects to its users. Motivatedby the long-term side effects of the use of chemical drugs for obese patients, the authors are interested in studying one of the potentials of natural anti-obesity, namely sweet orange peel (Citrus sinensis L.Osbeck). Sweet orange peel is known to have a high content of flavonoids.Based on scientific literature searches, no use of waste (waste) of sweet orange peel as an anti-obesity agent (Citrus sinensis L.Osbeck) and its influence on weight, appetite and cholesterol levels in male white rats who inducted a high fat diet. By combining the scientific field of animal physiology with biochemistry, the authors hope the emergence of new research results that can be utilized by the public as an effort to reduce the risk of long-term side effects of chemical treatment of obesity diseases and reduce the rate of obese people in Indonesia.
