Figs. 4–8. Life cycle of Stolas redtenbacheri. 4) Oviposition of grouped eggs, individually at one end to upper surface of leaf (note parasitoid wasp, lower right); 5) Eggs grouped on leaf petiole; 6) Eggs grouped on abaxial surface of leaf; 7) Solitary pupa attached at posterior end of abdomen to adaxial surface of host leaf, retaining fifth instar's exuviae; 8) Mature larvae with exuvio-fecal shields held over dorsum.
