Description

This group of videos are aimed to explain different aspects related with Metal-Semiconductor contacts. Metal-Semiconductor contacts represent one of the most important elements in solar cells and other electronic devices. In fact, they symbolize the channel to transmit the current (information) between the inside of the device and the outside. Therefore, a good Metal-Semiconductor contact is needed to analyse and study the optoelectronics of the device.

Firstly, there is an introduction video to regroup the five questions that will be answered. Moreover, each question is answered in one video. Slides and video recording are in Spanish.

The answered questions are the following:

1.  Which type of contacts do exist?

2.  Which are the characteristic parameters used in an energy band diagram?

3.  How the energy band alignment between the metal and the semiconductor should be to obtain each type of contact?

4.  How a Schottky contact can be turned into an ohmic contact?

5.  How the surface of the semiconductor can be doped to obtain a suitable contact with the metal?
