Description
Artoria ligulacea (Qu, Peng & Yin, 2009)
Figs 7–8, 11
Hygrolycosa ligulacea Qu et al., 2009: 71, figs 1a–c, 2a–d (♂ ♀).
Artoria ligulacea: Li et al. 2012: 40, figs 4A–I, 5A–E (♂ ♀).
Diagnosis. This species resembles A. parvula Thorell, 1877 (Figs 9–10), but can be distinguished from the latter by the distal end of median apophysis somewhat like the head of a cobra snake, with bent tip (Figs 7A–B, 8D–E), whereas distal end curved triangular with ventrally bent tip in A. parvula (Figs 9A–B, 10D–E), basoembolic apophysis longer than wide, highly sclerotized (Figs 7A, C, 8D, F), whereas almost round and not sclerotized in A. parvula (Figs 9A, C, 10D–F). Posterior margin of epigyne straight (Figs 7D–E, 8G–H), whereas posterior margin with a depression in A. parvula (Figs 9D–E, 10G–H). Spermathecal head not furcated (Figs 7E, 8H), whereas furcated into two branches in A. parvula (Figs 9E, 10H).
Description. See Li et al. (2012) for both sexes. Habitus, male pedipalp, and epigyne as in Figs 7–8.
