Comparison of modified Dimension 1 scores of the Spoken BNC2014 and Textbook Conversation
Description
A raincloud plot comparing the Conversation subcorpus of the Textbook English Corpus (TEC; Le Foll, in preparation) with the Spoken BNC2014 (Love et al., 2017) on a modified version of Biber’s (1988) Dimension 1 which excludes the five linguistic variables that rely on punctuation for their operationalisations.
Created in R (R Core Team, 2020) using {ggplot2} (Wickham, 2016) and the {RainCloudPlot} (Allen et al., 2018) packages. Colours inspired by the suffragette mouvement (Alburez-Gutierrez, 2019).
