Companilactobacillus furfuricola (fur.fu.ri’co.la. L. masc. n. furfur rice bran; L. suff. – cola from L. masc. or fem. n. incola inhabitant; N.L. masc. n. furfuricola rice bran-inhabitant).

Basonym: Lactobacillus furfuricola Irisawa et al. 2014, 2904 VP

Growth is observed between 20 and 37 °C [124]. Thegenome size is 2.64 Mbp. The mol% G+C content of DNA is 38.6.

Isolated from rice bran paste for Japanese pickles. Thetypestrainis Nu 27 T =JCM 18764 T =NRIC 0900 T =DSM 27174 T.
