Material examined. 4♂, 5♀, LepsocAfrica CRG, M1347, Gelechiidae, Gelechioidea, reared on Solanum rigescens, Solanaceae, York farm, Hoedspruit, South Africa, Limpopo, 24˚15’53.4’’S, 30˚53’28.5’’E, 4.ix.2016 eclosed (A. & I. Sharp); 1♂, AM 130, South Africa, Gauteng, Krokodilspruit, 25°35’12,5” S, 28°25’42,9” E, 25.xii.2017 em., Solanum panduriforme? (A. & I. Sharp) (all HSS).
Biology. Larvae were observed feeding on Solanum rigescens (Solanaceae) in late August and on S. panduriforme (?) in December. Adults emerged 4.ix and 25.xii (Staude et al. 2020: 58). Previously known as a pest on Solanaceae: Hyoscyamus albus, Solanum nigrum, S. melongena (Huemer & Karsholt 2010: 192).
Distribution. Southern parts of Palaearctic Region east to Japan, Africa, South-East Asia (Huemer & Karsholt 2010: 192).
