Machine-actionable DMP: Impact of social media on suicide rates
Description
Abstract:
Users of social media see others in the best light which might have adverse effect on the mental state of the users as they don't measure up to the people they follow. The level of impact might be great enough to reflect in the number of committed suicides. This effect should be seen as the number of users of the social media increases and would reflect in the number of suicides globally. The focus will be the 2 most prominent social media with relatively long history, about 10 years - Facebook and Twitter. Analysis will be done using a simple correlation of rate of growth of the number of users of different social media and suicides globally.
