Material examined. Three males, six females, Petite Butte, close to shore, 21 September 2001, 19‡45.012’S, 63‡23.803’E, in Jania adherens; two males, six females, same locality, date and GPS reading, in Jania adherens on small basaltic rocks; one male, same locality and date, 19‡45.066’S, 63‡23.802’E, in Padina sp.; one male, two females, same locality, date and GPS reading, in Turbinaria ornata; five males, eight females, same locality and date, 19‡45.012’S, 63‡23.803’E, Caulerpa brachypus over silt, A. Mackie; six males, eight females, Passe Coco, 8 m, 22 September 2001, 19‡40.282’S, 63‡25.378’E, dead coral over silty sand.

Remarks. This species is known across the Indian Ocean from East Africa, Madagascar, Mascarene Islands, India, Thailand and Western Australia.
