CoRA - Comparative Corpora of Research Articles
Description
The Comparative Corpora of Research Articles - CoRA is a synchronic collection of original scientific research articles (OSRA) published in the field of health sciences in peer-reviewed indexed journals, spanning from 2006 to 2018. The collection comprises five corpora. Three corpora consist of OSRAs written by native users of European Portuguese, European Spanish, and British English in their respective native languages. The other two corpora consist of OSRAs written in English by authors who are native users of European Portuguese/European Spanish. Most of the OSRAs included in the collection are published in open access. All OSRAs in CoRA do not have the “Methods and Materials” section. The collection has about 820 000 tokens and it was built with the purpose of studying the influence of the native language in academic writing written in English, specifically in research articles. The parsed version of the collection is also available, although it is not included here.
