The application of the double window exact state observer for detection of step changes in parameters of continuous systems

Description

The presentation shows the application of the theory of the exact state observers in continuous LTI processes with selected structures. The process is described by the input-output model given by n-th order differential equation and the observer enables identification of the place where the abrupt changes in physical parameters occured.
The observer has a special double window structure and reconstructs the derivatives of the output signal. Detection of the steps in the derivatives of the output indicates where the failure has occurred.
