Neopicobia freya Skoracki and Unsoeld, 2014

Neopicobia freya Skoracki et al., 2014b: 74, figs. 4–6. Types deposited in AMU, ZISP and ZSM, examined.

Type host: Dryocopus galeatus (Temminck) (Piciformes: Picidae). Type locality: Paraguay.

Host range and distribution. Mesostenoxenous species associated with the woodpeckers (Piciformes: Picidae): Dryocopus galeatus (Temminck) from Paraguay, Piculus rubiginosus (Swainson) from Panama (Skoracki et al. 2014b), Dendropicos griseocephalus (Boddaert) from Tanzania and D. goertae (Muller) from Kenya (Klimovicova et al. 2014).
