Euseius reticulatus Moraes, Ueckermann & Oliveira, n. sp. (Fig. 34)

DIAGNOSIS: This species differs from Euseius nyalensis (El­Badry, 1968) by having dorsal shield reticulated, shorter peritreme and shorter j4­J2.

FEMALE (5 specimens).

Dorsum ­ Dorsal shield imbricate, 315(296­339) long, 196(178­214) wide, j1 28(26­ 34), j3 38(35­40), j4 15(13­16), j5 14(13­14), j6 16(14­21), J2 18(14­21), J5 8(6­10), z2 27(24­30), z4 36(35­38), z5 14(13­16), Z1 20(18­22), Z4 60(56­67), Z5 86(78­93), s448(43­ 50), S2 19(16­22), S4 14(11­16), S5 13(10­22), r3 18(14­22), R1 16(14­18). Dorsal setae smooth, except Z5, which are serrate.

Peritreme ­ Reaching level between z4 and s4.

Venter – All ventral shields smooth. Distances between ST1­ST3 62(59­67), ST2­ST2 67(62­74) and ST5­ST5 83(77­91). Ventrianal shield 87 (82­93) long, 52 (50­56) wide at ZV2 level and 64(61­67) wide at anus level.

Chelicera ­ Movable digit 23 long, with one tooth; fixed digit 23 long with 4­6 teeth.

Spermatheca ­ Calyx slender, 38(32­48) long, flared distally; atrium inconspicuous; minor duct prominent.

Legs ­ Macrosetae knobbed: SgeI 31(29­32), SgeII 32(26­35), SgeIII 38(29­43), StiIII 29(26­32), SgeIV 62(54­67), StiIV 43(38­50), StIV 96(88­101).

TYPE MATERIAL: Holotype female, Glazoue, Zou, Benin, on weed, 10­VI­91, A. Onzo; 1 paratype female, same locality, on Manihot esculenta, 18­VII­90, A. Onzo; and 1 paratype female, Kpataba, Benin, on Andropogon sp., 9­IX­91, A. Onzo, all deposited at ESALQ­USP, Piracicaba­SP, Brazil. One paratype female from 14 km S. Tamarou, Borgou, Benin, on M. esculenta, 22­11­89; and 1 paratype female, Bethel, Benin, on M. esculenta, 23­X­91, B. Eklou, deposited at ARC­PPRI, Pretoria, South Africa.
