237. Ixodes trianguliceps Birula, 1895.
A Palearctic species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Rodentia: Cricetidae and Muridae, and Soricomorpha: Soricidae and Talpidae; adults and nymphs have been recovered from Rodentia: Myocastoridae; adult ticks alone have been collected from Carnivora: Canidae, Galliformes: Phasianidae, and Passeriformes: Fringillidae; nymphs and larvae have been recovered from Rodentia: Sciuridae, and Passeriformes: Turdidae; nymphs alone have been taken from Carnivora: Felidae, and Squamata: Lacertidae; while larvae alone have been found on Chiroptera: Vespertilionidae, and Passeriformes: Motacillidae (Guglielmone & Robbins 2018, Davies et al. 2017). Ixodes trianguliceps is a very rare parasite of humans.
