Description
MC-Flux is a Monte Carlo-based program to determine how sample spacing, sample strategy, and calculation approaches impact the probability of finding CO2 leakage anomalies and the accuracy of total CO2 flux estimates. The program repeatedly subsamples a high-resolution synthetic or real dataset of using five different sampling strategies at multiple, user-defined sample densities, keeping track of anomalies and estimating total flux using four approaches from the literature. In addition to internal functions related to data generation, elliptical anomaly generation, sub-sampling, statistical calculations, data management, etc., MC-Flux also accesses the commercial software package Surfer (not included) and the open source program sgsim in the GSLib library (www.gslib.com) to perform kriging and sequential Gaussian simulations, respectively.
Included are the program installation package, the user manual, and example input files.
