231. Ixodes texanus Banks, 1909.
A Nearctic species with one record from the Neotropical Region, all of whose
parasitic stages are usually found on Carnivora: Mustelidae and Procyonidae, but they have also been collected from Mammalia (several orders). Ixodes texanus is a rare parasite of humans.
