Description
The excel file Roud_2021_MagStrat_IssykKul_Results.xlsx contains the interpreted paleomagnetic directions (tabs AkTerek_pmag and KajiSay_pmag) and rock magnetic parameters with magnetostratigraphic age models (tabs AkTerek_RockMag and KajiSay_RockMag) obtained for two Cenozoic (late Miocene to early Pleistocene) sections in the southern Issyk-Kul Basin, central Tian Shan.
The 4 zip folders contain individual text files of the stepwise demagnetization of natural remanent magnetization (NRM) of all measured samples and include stratigraphic information and geographic coordinates of the samples. The data files are in .pmd format that can be visualized and analyzed with PaleoMac (Cogné, 2003) or www.paleomagnetism.org (Koymans et al., 2016).
- AT_AFdemag.zip combines alternating field demagnetization data from the Ak‑Terek section
- AT_THRMdemag.zip combines thermal demagnetization data from the Ak‑Terek section
- KS_AFdemag.zip combines alternating field demagnetization data from the Kaji Say section
- KS_THRMdemag.zip combines thermal demagnetization data from the Kaji Say section
Measurements were performed using an automated measurement system (SushiBar) based on a 2G Enterprises, three-axis superconducting magnetometer (Wack and Gilder, 2012) in the paleomagnetic laboratory of the Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich.
