Description

Cryphalus Erichson

Elytra with short hairs, 1.50−1.57 times as long as wide. Elytra with striae posteriorly faded. Striae wider than interstriae. Body cylindrical, 1.2−1.7 mm long. …............................................... C. asperatus (Gyllenhal) (= C. abetis)

Palaearctic distribution: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Russia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Serbia and Montenegro, Algeria, Morocco, Russia, East Siberia, Japan, North Korea, Turkey (Knížek 2011), Iran (Beaver et al. 2016).

Iran distribution: Southern provinces (Modares Awal 1997).

Host plants in Iran: Picea abies, Abies alba, A. bornmuelleriana (Pfeffer 1995).
