Type locality — Syntypes male: “Celebes” (MNHN).

Paroecus ellipticus Bates, 1863c: 380.

Type locality— Syntypes male and female: Brazil, Amazonas: Fonte Boa (MNHN).

Hysterotarsus batesii Thomson, 1864: 26 (nomem novum pro Astynomus celebensis Thomson, 1857) Distribution — Ecuador, Peru, French Guiana, Brazil (Amazonas, Maranhão).
