Description

Sertularella striata Stechow, 1923

Material examined: BBB 2016: St. 27 (MACN-In: 43482).

Distribution: Species previously reported in South Atlantic, South Africa (Millard 1975) and Uruguay and Argentina, from 35 to 43°S (d’Orbigny 1839 as Sertularia patagonica; Nutting 1904 as Sertularella patagonica; Blanco 1967 as Sertularella atlantica; Blanco 1994). This study extends its distribution southwards (56°S) and represents the first record at MPA Namuncurá I.

Remarks: Unfertile colonies were found. Synonyms at the area: Sertularia patagonica; Sertularella atlantica (see Oliveira et al. 2016).
