Description

Bougainvillia macloviana Lesson, 1830

Material examined: BBB 2016: St. 23.

Distribution: The polyp was recorded in Kerguelen Islands and South Africa (Millard 1977); Tierra del Fuego and Malvinas / Falkland Islands, as Perigonimus repens (Ritchie 1909; Jäderholm 1910: polyp) and Perigonimus octonus (Blanco 1994: polyp); recently in San Jorge Gulf, 45°54´S – 66°45´W (López Gappa et al. 2016). This is the first record at MPA Namuncurá I.

Remarks: An unfertile fragment of a colony detached from its substrata was found.
