Description

Pilumnoides perlatus (Poeppig, 1836)

Hepatus perlatus Poeppig, 1836:135.

Material examined. None.

Distribution. East Pacific and Western Atlantic—Brazil (São Paulo) (Melo et al. 2000; Tavares 2011).

Remarks. Previous records in São Paulo include Ubatuba (Melo et al. 2000; Bertini et al. 2004; Tavares & Mendonça Jr. 2004; Tavares 2011). This species is native from East Pacific and an exotic species in South America, occasionally introduced on the coast of São Paulo by shippings from European ports (Hayward & Ryland 1990; Tavares & Mendonça Jr. 2004).
