Distribution. Western Atlantic—Antilles (Grenada), Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Suriname, and Brazil (Pará, Maranhão, Rio Grande do Norte, Ceará, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Santa Catarina) (Rathbun 1918; Abele 1992; Schubart et al. 1999; Barros & Pimentel 2001; Sousa et al. 2015).

Remarks. Previous records on the coast of São Paulo state include Santos and Iguape (Abele 1992; Rathbun 1918), Ubatuba (Negreiros-Fransozo et al. 2002). Sequences accession number (GenBank): CCDB 3669—16S (KU313137), COI (KU313375) (Buranelli & Mantelatto 2017).
