Leptostylus LeConte, 1852

Leptostylus LeConte, 1852: 168.

Type species Lamia aculifera Say, 1824 (subsequent designation, Thomson, 1864: 28) [= Lamia transversa Gyllenhal, 1817].

Diagnosis. Pronotum with protuberances; lateral tubercles of the prothorax placed medially or on posterior third; elytra with setose granules, sometimes throughout.

Remarks. A problematic genus in need of full revision. Number of species currently included: 86.
