Cassia marilandica Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 378. 1753.
"Habitat in Virginia, Marilandia." RCN: 2977.
Lectotype (Fernald in Rhodora 39: 410. 1937): Herb. Linn. No. 528.27 (LINN).
Current name: Senna marilandica (L.) Link (Fabaceae: Caesalpinioideae).
