Description
Aspalathus nigra Linnaeus, Mantissa Plantarum Altera: 262. 1771.
"Habitat ad Cap. b. spei montibus." RCN: 5222.
Lectotype (Dahlgren in Leistner, Fl. Southern Africa 16(3:6): 193. 1988): Tulbagh 151, Herb. Linn. No. 893.22 (LINN).
Current name: Aspalathus nigra L. (Fabaceae: Faboideae).
Note: Dahlgren (in Opera Bot. 6(2): 41. 1961) indicated 893.22 (LINN) only as "orig. coll.", but clarified this to “type” in 1988.
