Description

Aspalathus callosa Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 713. 1753.

"Habitat in Aethiopia. D. Royenus plurimas has Achyronias amicissime communicavit." RCN: 5240.

Lectotype (Dahlgren in Opera Bot. 11(1): 53. 1966): [icon] " Cytisus trifoliatus, Juniperinis foliis, floribus luteis, in spicam densiorem adactis" in Plukenet, Almag. Mant.: 63, t. 345, f. 4. 1700. - Typotype: Herb. Sloane 92: 54 (BM-SL).

Generitype of Achyronia Linnaeus (vide Reveal in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 14. 1993).

Current name: Aspalathus callosa L. (Fabaceae: Faboideae).
