Description
Artemisia maritima Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 846. 1753.
"Habitat in Europae septentrionalioris littoribus maris." RCN: 6133.
Lectotype (Persson in Opera Bot. 35: 134. 1974): Herb. Linn. No. 988.20 (LINN).
Current name: Artemisia maritima L. (Asteraceae).
Note: Leonova (in Novosti Sist. Vyssh. Rast. 7: 282. 1971) indicated unspecified material in LINN as type but this did not distinguish between sheets 988.20 and 988.21, which are not part of the same gathering so Art. 9.15 does not apply. Persson’s type choice is accepted here.
